Isac Asimov(1920-1992) was born in Russia and brought up in America. He was graduated from Columbia University at 19, and after military service returned there to receive a Ph.D. in 1948 in Bio-Chemistry. Although nominally on the faculty of Boston University's school of medicine after 1949, his life devoted to his career of prodigious authorship, which began with his sale of a science fiction story at the age of 18 to amazing stories.
Since, the publication of his novel 'Pebbles in the sky' (1950) after that he produced more than 200 books. His short story 'Night Fall' is still considered by many to be the best science fiction of work of all time. His non-fiction publications have ranged over a wide variety of topics, including science, Shakespeare and the bible.
