The meaning of the three poisons religiously defined as any kind of negative attitude of us, which means what we miss act in life. What this fortune befalls on us is also because of the three poisons. Therefore, they are the real enemies who put us in such dark and miserable condition. In which we lack in knowledge and understanding to realize the three values of life and we mostly don't know the best meaning of leading life to a better, peaceful and free. Due to the three poisons we have countless of problems, terrors and suffering like suffering of birth, suffering of old age and suffering of death.
1. Desire: The great and greed which occurs in our mind involuntarily and results a misdeed. There are types of desire such as desire of property, desire of sexual action and desire of extinction of animals etc. Due to our desire we do plenty of misdeeds in order to fill up our greed.
2. Hatred: The rude and cruel attitude toward other people or animals is to hinder them. Due to the hatred we act very harmful, misdeeds like fighting, attack and killing each other. Hatred is like gruesome flame, when the flame of hatred burns in our mind. We can't control ourselves and we take every rude, harsh and harmful action towards people or animal to defeat them.
3. Ignorance: The lack of knowledge, understanding and information of matters of life. Due to the ignorance we don't know how to create a rational life for the ultimate peace and happiness of all human beings. We had already waged the World War I and II and even small battles. If we have the knowledge and understanding to know what kinds of result will come at the end of our deeds, we might have not been indulged in the destruction deeds.
Here what we already realize is every misdeed, which we act and every misfortune that befalls on us is due to the three poisons. Because of the three poisons we often practice the ten negative actions through our physical, speech and mind. We have the ability to be holy man like Buddha but unfortunately, due to the black shadows of the three poisons we don't know how to be an omniscient and perfect holy man like the Buddha.
